Osio Sotto Town Hall
When design is incorporated into public spaces, it helps to enhance not only the aesthetics of those spaces, but also the way in which people experience them. This is the vision behind the redevelopment project for Osio Sotto Town Hall, designed by Sottoscalo Design of designers Andrea Villa and Riccardo Polo, which has transformed the town hall into a more welcoming, intuitive space that is more accessible to the public.
Inspired by the colours and landscapes of Bergamo’s countryside, the concept interprets the identity of the region through a textural palette, the restoration of the building’s historic features and the integration of new wayfinding tools and digital services. Within this dialogue between heritage and modernity, True’s Millepiedi seats, designed by Parisotto & Formenton, have found their place; they were chosen for their ability to blend naturally into an institutional setting, enhancing the architecture without compromising on comfort and functionality.
With their minimalist design and lightweight construction, the Millepiedi benches are a natural fit for waiting areas and circulation spaces, helping to create a welcoming and orderly atmosphere. Their presence demonstrates how a product designed for a wide range of settings can also adapt seamlessly to public service environments, where quality, durability and usability are essential requirements.
The project confirms the versatility of the True collections: furniture capable of adapting to a variety of contexts, from hospitality spaces to offices, from educational environments to institutional buildings. These solutions interact with the architecture, meet the demands of everyday use and help to create environments where design and function coexist in perfect balance.
The refurbishment of Osio Sotto’s Town Hall demonstrates how design can become a tool for fostering connections, capable of enhancing people’s experiences and strengthening the bond between space, community and institutions.
